Matilda Vinberg joined us midway through the 2023/24 campaign, following a stint with Hammarby IF.

Following a full pre-season with the squad, the winger made 23 appearances in all competitions for us in 2024/25, 18 of those in the WSL, and scored in the Women’s League Cup group stage game against Crystal Palace in December, 2024.

Born in Stockholm, the attacking midfielder began her career with Enskede IK, making her senior debut in 2018 at the age of just 15.

In January, 2021, she signed for Swedish top-flight side Hammarby and at the end of her second season in 2022 was named the Damallsvenskan (league) Breakthrough Player of the Year and Hammarby Player of the Year.

During the 2023 campaign, Matilda was a key part of Hammarby's double-winning side as they won the Swedish Cup last June, beating BK Häcken in the final, before securing the Damallsvenskan title in November.

Making her move to England midway through the 2023/24 campaign, she made her debut for us off the bench off the bench in the 4-3 win over West Ham United in January, 2024, and her full debut at home to Leicester City in March, 2024, where she also netted her first goal in Lilywhite.

Having risen through the age groups on the international scene, Matilda made her senior debut for Sweden in November, 2022, and scored her first goal for her nation in the UEFA Nations League Play-Off tie against Bosnia and Herzegovina in February, 2024.
