Player Season Stats

Finland international Eveliina Summanen completed a move to Hotspur Way in January, 2022.

Eveliina enjoyed a productive season in 2024/25, scoring two goals and three assists in 17 appearances across all competitions, including 18 starts. She also featured in two Women’s League Cup games to take her tally to 19 in total for the campaign, with the midfielder now on 82 appearances in total for us.

There was a memorable moment in our Women’s League Cup group stage clash with Aston Villa in November, 2024, as her 40-yard strike found the top right corner to earn us a 1-0 win and secure out spot in the knockout stages of the competition.

Unsurprisingly that sensational goal at Brisbane Road won the Club’s Goal of the Month award for November and also picked up the Supporters’ Goal of the Season award.

Born in Lappeenranta, the midfielder began her career with her hometown team PEPO where she progressed through the youth system before joining top-flight side, HJK, in 2016. She made her senior debut in April, 2016, and went on to feature 63 times, making 59 starts and scoring three goals over the next three seasons.

In 2019, she made the switch from Kansanallinen Liiga to her neighbouring country, Sweden to join KIF Örebro. She adapted quickly to life in Damallsvenskan, starting all 21 of her appearances. In January, 2020, Kristianstads DFF acquired her services and she made 43 starts over the following two seasons finding the back of the net five times.

Joining midway through the 2021/22 campaign, Eveliina quickly settled into life in England, featuring in 12 games for us in all competitions, seven starts, with 10 of those in the WSL.

But the Finnish midfielder had an impact in the following season, putting together a strong partnership alongside Angharad James-Turner and Drew Spence.

Registering 11 goal involvements (five goals and six assists) in 25 appearances, it’s Eveliina’s best goalscoring contribution to date in a Spurs shirt, and in fact, the best in her career so far.

She featured in all but two games in the WSL, including 17 starts, scoring three goals in and three assists in the competition.

Netting a goal in our first WSL home game of the 2023/24 campaign, Eveliina was an integral part of a strong start to the campaign, where she featured in an unbeaten run of seven games after an opening day defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

However, injury struck for the midfielder in November, 2023, in our clash with Manchester City and returned to action in January, 2024, missing the whole of December. Earning her spot back in the starting XI, Eveliina started all 11 games in the WSL in the second half of the campaign, while she played a pivotal role in our historic run in the Women’s FA Cup where we reached the Final for the first time.

In total, she made 26 appearances in our colours, 20 in the WSL, scoring once and registering four assists.

A key part of the Finland national team, she made her senior debut in June, 2017, against China. She was a permanent fixture throughout her country’s successful qualification for the UEFA Women’s Euro 2022 and was part of the final squad that competed in England.

With Finland qualifying once again for Euro 2025, where Eveliina was a constant in their starting XI, she has been named in squad that will travel to Switzerland to compete in her second major international tournament.
