Tanguy Ndombele joined us from Olympique Lyonnais in July, 2019, signing a contract with the Club until 2025.
The skilful midfielder featured 18 times in all competitions in 2021/22, taking his tally to 91 appearances and 10 goals in all competitions. He scored a superb goal to help us beat Newcastle at St James' Park in October. Tanguy returned to France and Lyon on loan for the second half of the campaign, where he played 15 times, scoring once.
In August, 2022, he joined Napoli on loan for the 2022/23 season.
Tanguy started his professional career at French side Amiens in Ligue 2, before moving to Olympique Lyonnais on loan in August, 2017, and permanently in the summer of 2018.
He made 96 appearances in total for the Ligue 1 side and registered 16 assists.
Tanguy made the dream start to his career at Spurs with a goalscoring debut in a 3-1 win against Villa in August, 2019. He went on to play 29 times in all competitions in 2019/20.
The talented midfielder featured 46 times for us in 2020/21, including 28 starts in 33 appearances in the Premier League. He scored three times - equalising against Manchester United as we went on to complete a stunning 6-1 win at Old Trafford, a 20-yard drive at Wolves and the pick, a clever lob from an acute angle at Sheffield United. He enjoyed a run of 21 starts in 26 matches in all competitions between that goal at Molineux on 27 December and the win against Southampton on 21 April.
Having represented France at Under-21 level 10 times, Tanguy made his senior international debut in October, 2018. At the end of 2020/21, he had seven full caps to his name.
