Player Season Stats

All-action midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg joined us from Southampton in August, 2020.

Pierre has been consistency personified since his arrival in N17 and continued that in 2022/23, where he featured in 44 of our 50 matches in all competitions, scoring five goals. That means he's now featured in 145 of a possible 161 matches since his debut at Everton on the opening day of 2020/21.

Five goals is also Pierre's best return yet and included one of the highlights of the season, a late, later winner at Marseille in October that secured top spot and progress into the knockout phase of the Champions League.

He also started all three of Denmark's games at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar in December, his performances for the Danes recognised by being named Denmark’s Male Football Player of the Year for 2022.

Pierre moved to Bayern Munich from Brøndby IF in July, 2012, making his debut later that season against 1. FC Nürnberg at the age of 17, and in doing so, became the youngest player ever to represent them in the Bundesliga. He was named Danish Talent of the Year in 2013 and started the 2014 German Cup final, where Bayern overcame Borussia Dortmund 2-0 after extra time.

His time in Germany also saw him enjoy loan spells at FC Augsburg, who he helped to Europa League qualification in 2015, and FC Schalke, where he made more than 30 appearances during the 2015/16 campaign.

He made his move to the Premier League with Southampton in 2016, helping them to the EFL Cup final in his first season and was named Club Captain in December, 2018. He made a total of 134 appearances and scored five goals during his four-year spell at St Mary's.

Pierre marked his first season at Spurs with an ever-present campaign in the Premier League, playing every minute of the 38 matches. He went on to feature in 53 of our 58 matches in all competitions. He scored twice in the Premier League and was second only behind Manchester City's Rodrigo in terms of completed passes in the Premier League in 2020/21 - 2,765 to Rodrigo's 2,785.

His season didn't end there though, far from it. Pierre was then part of Denmark's extraordinary Euro 2020 campaign, playing every minute again as his country overcame the emotional toil of Christian Eriksen's cardiac arrest in the first group game to reach the semi-finals, where they were beaten by Harry Kane's penalty in extra time.

Following his ever-present debut season for us in the Premier League in 2020/21, The Viking excelled again, this time starting 36 of our 38 matches as we finished fourth in the Premier League in 2021/22 to qualify for the UEFA Champions League. He featured in 48 of our 53 matches in all competitions, scoring twice, striking up central partnerships with Oliver Skipp and then new arrival Rodrigo Bentancur in the second half of the season. After just two seasons as a Spur, he reached a century of appearances for us in all competitions - 101 at the end of 2021/22.

Pierre made his senior international debut for Denmark as an 18-year-old in their 1-0 win over Sweden in May, 2014. Mid-way through the 2022/23 season, he represented his nation at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. At the end of 2022/23, Pierre had earned 67 caps.
