Born: 19 September 2001 (Maidstone, England)
Central midfielder Harvey White is a product of our Academy system.
He was regularly named in the first team matchday squad during the 2021/22 season, particularly during the second half of that campaign, while also making 21 appearances in all competitions for our Development Squad - many of them as captain - scoring seven goals.
Having continued to work with our first team squad during the first half of the 2022/23 season, alongside a number of appearances for our Under-21s, he marked his Premier League debut in January, 2023, with a second-half substitute appearance in a 4-0 victory at Crystal Palace.
On 31 January, 2023, he joined League One side Derby County on loan for the remainder of the 2022/23 season.
Born in Maidstone and attending The Holmesdale School, Harvey was a keen cricketer in school. He was a regular for our Under-16s in 2017/18, scoring eight goals, while stepping up to feature once for the Under-18s.
In September, 2018, he scored from the spot as our Under-17s beat Galatasaray in the final of the Euro Youth Cup in St Wendel, Germany.
During 2018/19, he scored six goals in 15 Under-18 Premier League appearances to help us finish second in that division - his tally included the first ever penalty to be scored at the new stadium as our youngsters beat Southampton 3-1 in a Test Event match there in March, 2019. A dead ball specialist who also filled in at left-back and centre-half during that eventful campaign, he scored once in three Under-18 Premier League Cup games and played twice in the FA Youth Cup at Millwall and Arsenal.
He also featured in all but one of our eight UEFA Youth League matches in 2018/19 and played seven times in all competitions for our Development Squad. That included five showings in the Premier League 2, where he played at left-back in the last two games of the season, helping us secure back-to-back wins against Swansea and Derby to avoid relegation. He also scored a late free-kick at Portsmouth on his EFL Trophy debut in November, 2018.
In July, 2019, Harvey made his senior debut at left-back during our pre-season tour of Asia and towards the end of the extended 2019/20 season, after again featuring regularly for our Academy sides across a number of competitions and age groups, he appeared in a first team Premier League matchday squad for the first time as an unused substitute against Manchester United in June, 2020.
Harvey scored three goals in 11 Premier League 2 appearances for our Development Squad in the opening months of the 2020/21 season while, in November, 2020, making his senior competitive debut off the bench in our 4-0 home win over Ludogorets in the UEFA Europa League. After signing a new contract with the Club in December, 2020, he made his full debut in our 5-0 FA Cup win at non-league Marine in January, 2021. Later that month, he joined League One side Portsmouth on loan for the remainder of the 2020/21 season, where he made 22 appearances in all competitions, scoring once.
