Richarlison will be hoping to continue his impressive Premier League record against former side Everton when we make the trip to the new Hill Dickinson Stadium on Sunday (kick-off 4.30pm).
Joining us from the Blues in July 2022, our number nine has scored four in our previous four league games against the Toffees and has netted four times in three away games against them in the top flight (for Watford and Spurs).
Two of those strikes on the road came in a superb brace in our 2-2 draw in 2023/24 and the other came late on in our 3-2 defeat last time out in this fixture having trailed 3-0 at half-time.
Spurs Weekly | Richarlison analysis
The Brazil international currently leads our goalscoring charts after bagging an opening day brace in our 3-0 win over Burnley and adding one to his tally in our 2-2 draw at Brighton & Hove Albion and, without a goal in three league games, can take confidence from his strong record on Merseyside.
With Richy's four goals on the road coming at Everton's former ground Goodison Park - where the striker scored 23 home league goals during his time there - this weekend's encounter sees us travel to the newest Premier League venue built on Bramley-Moore Dock by the river Mersey.
David Moyes' side have started well at their new home where they remain unbeaten across their opening four league fixtures there with two wins (2-0 Brighton, 2-1 Crystal Palace) and two draws (0-0 Aston Villa, 1-1 West Ham United).
Meanwhile, we are yet to taste defeat on our travels this season and have accumulated the most points (10) of any side in the division following our three wins and one draw this season. A victory on Sunday would be only the second time we have achieved 13 points in our opening five away matches of a campaign in the Premier League era, doing so in 2020/21.
Here are some other headline pre-match facts, courtesy of Opta, ahead of Sunday's trip:
- We've lost one of our last 12 Premier League away games against Everton (W3 D8), yet we're winless in our last six visits to the Toffees (D5 L1).
- Everton won 3-2 in our last meeting – they’ve not won consecutively against Spurs since December 2012, during David Moyes’ first spell in charge.
- João Palhinha has made more tackles (35) than any other Premier League player this season, while his 10 tackles in our 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa was the most by a player in a game this term and most by a Spurs midfielder since Sandro made 11 against Blackburn in April 2012.
- Rodrigo Bentancur's goal via a corner means that - over the last two seasons - we have netted the second highest goals from this set piece situation in the Premier League (13).
- Only Mohammed Kudus (64) and Man City’s Jérémy Doku (45) have made more dribbles in the league this season than Everton’s Iliman Ndiaye (39).
- We are unbeaten in our three league matches following a game in Europe this season (W2, D1 including UEFA Super Cup final).
- Eight of the last 12 times Everton have hosted Spurs in the Premier League, the game has ended in a draw.
- Since a goalless draw between the two sides in November 2021, we have scored 18 goals against Everton in seven league meetings, averaging 2.6 goals per game.
