Tandberg's 40-yard stunner clinches September Goal of the Month award

Cathinka Tandberg has clinched the September Goal of the Month award for her long-range stunner at Goodison Park.

Stealing the show in Everton Women's first Barclays Women's Super League match at the storied stadium, 'Tinka' lobbed goalkeeper Courtney Brosnan with an effort from 40 yards to get us under way in a 2-0 win last month.

A signing from Hammarby IK in the summer, the goal was her first in our colours as she enjoyed an impressive debut month in Lilywhite, scoring twice as well as providing an assist.

It was such a fine September that the forward has also been nominated for the WSL's Player of the Month award.

'Tinka' took 44 per cent of the vote to claim our Goal of the Month award, seeing off Harry Byrne's UEFA Youth league strike at Bodo/Glimt (33%) and Lucas Bergvall's header against West Ham United -  a goal which has been nominated for the Premier League's Goal of the Month award.
