Internationals | Assist for Vinberg as Sweden Under-23s claim victory

Matilda Vinberg claimed an assist as Sweden Under-23s ran out 3-2 winners over Spain in an international friendly on Thursday evening.

The winger started the game at Las Rozas de Madrid and just after the half-hour mark, she fizzed in a low cross from right of the box for Liverpool’s Cornelia Kapocs to tap home from close range for her second of the game and to put Sweden 2-1 up in the contest.

Kapocs opened the scoring four minutes into the encounter but, just two minutes later, Ornella Vignola grabbed an instant equaliser. Fiamma Iannuzzi grabbed the leveller once again for Spain on the stroke of half time but, just before the hour mark, Sara Eriksson netted the winner for Sweden.

Matilda completed the first half in Madrid before making way at the break for Eriksson.

The Blagult will take on Italy on Tuesday (1pm) at Stadio Risto II Noce in their final game of the international camp.
