Micky van de Ven has been named in the Netherlands squad for upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in June.
The centre-back returns to the international set-up for the first time since October, 2024, and fresh off the back of playing a key role in our successful UEFA Europa League campaign.
In somewhat of a frustrating season on the injury-front having spent the best part of three months on the sidelines, Micky's timely return in March coincided with the European knockout stages where he played every minute from the quarter-finals to the moment we lifted the trophy in Bilbao.
Claiming our first piece of silverware in 17 years with a battling 1-0 win over Manchester United, the defender more than played his part in the victory with an astonishing acrobatic goal-saving clearance on 68 minutes that will go down in Spurs folklore and, crucially, helped preserve the clean sheet needed to seal the win.
Drawn in Group G, the Oranje have a trip to face Finland at the Helsinki Olympic Stadium on 7 June and then host Malta three days later at Euroborg Stadion in Groningen (both 7.45pm UK) as they start their European (UEFA) qualification campaign for next summer's major tournament across the United States, Mexico and Canada.
The Dutch have also been drawn alongside Poland and Lithuania with group winners qualifying automatically and second place - joined by four best Nations League group winners - drawn into a play-off phase. The 24-year-old has 10 caps to date, all coming as a Spurs player.
