Opponents confirmed for Coupang Play Series match in Korea

We are pleased to confirm that our men’s first team will face Newcastle United in Korea this summer as part of the 2025 Coupang Play Series.

We announced last week that we’ll be visiting Korea during our pre-season tour of Asia, where we’ll participate in the Coupang Play Series for a third time.

It has now been confirmed that this season’s Carabao Cup winners, Newcastle, will be our opponents in what is their debut appearance in the tournament, organised and promoted each year by Coupang and Pitch International.

Details on the date, venue and tickets for the match will be announced in due course.

This will be our fifth visit to Korea, where the Club is regarded as the country’s best-supported overseas team. We have previously taken part in the Coupang Play Series in 2022 and 2024.

As is Club tradition, players and staff will be engaging with our fans, supporting good causes, and celebrating local culture throughout our time in Korea.

We shall be working with AIA, the Club’s Global Principal Partner, as part of its mission to deepen engagement with AIA communities across Asia and promote health and well-being, as well as additional partners in the region such as Alipay+, whose logo will feature on the back of the shirt.

Alongside this, the Club’s Global Football Development coaches will deliver our renowned technical programme for local young players and coach education workshops, showcasing the authentic training methods developed within the Club’s Academy, helping young players to reach their full potential.
