Club skipper Heung-Min Son hoisted the UEFA Europa League trophy into the night sky in Bilbao on Wednesday after our historic 1-0 victory over Manchester United in the tournament final.
The South Korea international, signed from Bayer Leverkusen just under 10 years ago and captain of the Club since 2023, collected his medal along with his team-mates before lifting the trophy as golden confetti soon came raining down.
He’d entered the action mid-way through the second half, having begun the night on the bench. Cristian Romero led the team out and was named Player of the Match by UEFA after another excellent defensive display.
The jubilant players were soon joined on the pitch by their families as the party continued in front of our supporters.
