Our youngsters have made European football history!
After Wilson Odobert's two goals in Thursday night's Europa League win over AZ Alkmaar, we became the first side in major European competition history to have five players aged under 21 score a goal for us in single season.
Having already seen one our own take the record of the youngest English goalscorer in major European competition history when 17-year-old Mikey Moore struck against Elfsborg in January before we started our second youngest side in Premier League history two weeks ago against Manchester City, further youthful history was made on Thursday.
With Will Lankshear (19), Mikey (17), Damola Ajayi (19), Dane Scarlett (20) and now Wilson (20) all having scored for us in the Europa League this season, we are now the first side since European competitions began to see five players under the age of 21 find the back of the net in a single season.
Beginning with Will - who is now on loan at West Brom, who fired home in our November trip to Galatasaray, Mikey, Damola and Dane all then struck in the aforementioned January clash with Elfsborg before Wilson became our fifth youngster to hit target for us in European competitions this term alone with his brace against AZ.
Incredibly, for all of those players, their strikes were also their first-ever goals for the Club and their only goals in our colours to date.
