Internationals | Archie starts as England kick-off UEFA Under-21s with a win

Archie Gray started as England kicked-off the defence of their UEFA Under-21s Championship title with a 3-1 win against Czechia in Slovakia on Thursday evening.

The versatile defender/midfielder lined-up at right-back in Lee Carsley's 4-3-3 system and completed a full shift at the DAC Arena in Dunajska Streda.

Goals from Liverpool's Harvey Elliott, Marseille's Jonathan Rowe and Charlie Cresswell of Toulouse saw the Young Lions home. Germany toppled Slovenia 3-0 in the other match in Group B. England take on Slovenia on Sunday (5pm UK).

Next up for our players in the tournament, Wilson Odobert and Mathys Tel's France to take on Georgia in Group C on Saturday (8pm UK). They drew their opener with Portugal.
