James Maddison stepped up his recovery this week as he returned to full training during the halfway stage of pre-season at Hotspur Way.
Our number 10 has been working hard on his rehabilitation from a knee injury that ruled him out of the 2024/25 run-in, which culminated in us winning the Europa League in May.
Two months later, the key midfielder now has his sights set on a return to playing action after joining the rest of the group in a full session featuring possession-based games, the blocking drill and a fitness finisher as intensity ramps up.
Speaking in his first press conference last Friday (18 July), Thomas Frank said Madders was the 'closest one' of our injured players to making a comeback but wasn't quite ready to play in the 2-0 win at Reading in our pre-season opener last time out.
A week on, there are encouraging signs that the creative talent could get some minutes for the first time under our new Head Coach this weekend with two pre-season friendlies happening on Saturday in what is our final outing before departing for Tour.
