Spurs vs Elfsborg | How to watch, team news, kit colours, key information

Thu 30 January 2025, 12:20|Tottenham Hotspur

It’s the eighth and final matchday in the new league phase of the UEFA Europa League tonight, as we welcome Swedish side Elfsborg to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

We’re currently sixth in the standings and know that victory tonight would rubber-stamp a top eight finish and an automatic place in the last 16 of the competition.

Elfsborg, seventh in last year’s Swedish top flight, are 20th and very much in the mix to secure a play-off place.

Teams finishing between ninth and 24th will face a two-legged play-off to determine who progresses to the round of 16.

Here’s everything you need to know...

What time is kick-off against Elfsborg?

Tonight’s match starts at 8pm UK time.

How can I watch the game?

The match will be televised live in the UK on TNT Sports 2.

As always, live text and audio commentary, stats, live photos and more can all be found via our Match Centre here on tottenhamhotspur.com and the Spurs Official app.

You can also keep up to date via the home page of the app.

What is the team news?

It has been confirmed that James Maddison has suffered a calf strain and, much like against Leicester City at the weekend, he’ll miss out tonight.

However, defender Micky van de Ven is expected to return to action this evening following his hamstring injury.

Pape Matar Sarr, Yves Bissouma and Richarlison are all fit to face Elfsborg after recent injury concerns but Antonin Kinsky, Sergio Reguilon and Djed Spence are ineligible.

Guglielmo Vicario, Cristian Romero, Destiny Udogie, Wilson Odobert, Brennan Johnson, Timo Werner and Dominic Solanke are our longer-term absentees.

Visitors Elfsborg have a clean bill of health coming into the game.

Who is the referee?

Austrian referee Sebastian Gishamer will take charge of tonight’s game.

Santino Schreiner and Alexander Borucki will be his assistants, with Walter Altmann as the fourth official.

Alan Kijas and assistant Dragomir Draganov will be on VAR duties.

What colours will the teams be playing in?

We’ll be wearing our traditional all-Lilywhite European strip this evening.

Our goalkeeper will play in orange.

Elfsborg will arrive in yellow shirts, black shorts and yellow socks, with their keeper in green.

What will the weather conditions be like?

There’ll be clear skies and light winds in north London this evening. It’s expected to stay dry, with temperatures at around four degrees.

How can I get the matchday programme and what’s included?

Sweden international star Dejan Kulusevski is the cover star of tonight’s official matchday programme. He speaks about our recent challenging spell of form and his knowledge of Elfsborg inside, while Ange Postecoglou provides us with his latest exclusive programme column. Available at the usual £4, copies can be purchased around the stadium or online here for delivery direct to your door.
