Porro provides first Spain assist in dominant win

Pedro Porro registered his first assist for his country in a standout display to help Spain sweep Serbia aside with a 3-0 home win in the UEFA Nations League on Tuesday evening.

Returning to national team duty with a full shift in their 1-0 victory over Denmark last time out, the all-action full-back retained his place in the backline and helped his nation get off to the ideal start when his deep first-time cross found Aymeric Laporte at the back post to nod in the opener just five minutes in.

Alvaro Morata doubled the lead midway through the second half before the visitors were reduced to 10 men following Strahinja Pavlovic's sending off on 76 minutes and Álex Baena fired in the resulting free-kick to round off the comfortable win.

Earning his fifth cap, Pedro was in inspired form throughout his 90 minutes in Córdoba with six chances created - twice as many as his opponents managed combined - five duels won, four accurate crosses, two tackles and two interceptions to go alongside his assist on a memorable night for the Spaniard.

That victory rounded off a successful international break for Pedro and Luis de la Fuente’s side who continued their unbeaten run in the competition to put them top of their Nations League group (League A, Group 4).

Radu's Romania maintain winning start

Also in Nations League action on Tuesday night, Radu Dragusin - fresh from scoring his first goal for the national team - was in from the start to receive his 24th cap for Romania as they recovered from going a goal behind early on to clinch a 2-1 victory in Lithuania.

Trailing to Armandas Kucys penalty on seven minutes, Razvan Marin levelled things with a spot-kick of his own 11 minutes later before our defender played a key role in what proved to be the decisive goal on 65 minutes, bursting from defence to launch a counter attack and feeding Dennis Man who laid in Denis Draguș to secure the three points.

Their fourth win in four League C (Group 2) fixtures sees Romania edge ever closer to an immediate return to League B in what was an impressive month of international action for the 22-year-old.
