Team news | Bristol City vs Spurs (WSL) | Martha Thomas injury update

Thu 21 March 2024, 16:00|Tottenham Hotspur

Robert Vilahamn has confirmed that Martha Thomas is set to be sidelined for the next couple of weeks after suffering a hamstring injury.

The Scotland international, who has scored seven goals in the Barclays Women's Super League this season, missed our 1-0 victory over Leicester City last weekend and will be out for the next two to three weeks, missing our fixture against Bristol City on Sunday afternoon (2pm UK).

Goalkeeper Barbora Votíková will also miss this weekend’s trip to Ashton Gate after the 27-year-old suffered concussion in training earlier this week and will follow protocol before returning.

There was positive news as defender Molly Bartrip returned to training this week and could be back in contention for Sunday after recovering from an illness that saw her miss the last two games.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference on Thursday afternoon, Robert said: “Martha will be out this weekend. She has done the first week of rehab and she followed the plan, so hopefully it’s only three weeks for her and, during the international break, she will be on the pitch again and prepare herself for the Adobe Women's FA Cup game.

“Bara suffered concussion in training earlier this week so she will also be out, but we are following the protocol there.

“Molly was back on the pitch and trained well this week so, if everything goes well on Saturday, she will be in the squad this weekend.”
