Celin Bizet: “We are now going in the right direction”

Sat 09 March 2024, 10:00|Tottenham Hotspur

Celin Bizet has flourished under Robert Vilahamn this season.

The Norway international, who joined the Club in August, 2022, from Paris St German, has already doubled her goal tally from last season and still has eight games left to play in this campaign.

Celin has netted on four occasions in the Barclays Women’s Super League so far, with some memorable strikes along the way, including that spectacular solo run against Liverpool in November while helping to secure a point away to Leicester City.

Her fine run of form saw the 22-year-old back in Norway’s senior squad for the latest international break and she certainly impressed on her return, scoring in the first leg of the UEFA Nations League qualifier against Croatia.

Next up for Celin and her teammates is the visit of Manchester City to Brisbane Road – our fourth meeting already this season – in the quarter-final of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup.

Having improved our deficit against Gareth Taylor’s side on the last two occasions, but still falling short in the WSL and Conti Cup, the midfielder has a ‘good feeling’ heading into the game.

“It’s the fourth time against Manchester City and we have just got better and better from those games,” Celin told SPURSPLAY. “We have been practicing on the pitch, training has been good and I just have a really good feeling.

“I feel like we are on a good road, we are fitter, smarter and we are making better decisions. It will be a good game.”

We have already bettered our points tally from last season in the WSL and gone one step further in the FA Cup, so when asked about the difference in 12 months, Celin believes we have made a step into the right direction.

Celin added: “When you compare last season to now, where we should have won more games or got better results, but I think we are now going in the right direction, people are more happy and using their strengths, and the people who have come in have been great, it’s easy for players to come into.

“I feel, for me and everyone, we are using our strengths and we are just relaxed. You can see every player doing that.”
