"He'll get all the support he needs" - Ange on Sess' setback

Ange Postecoglou has said Ryan Sessegnon will come back even stronger from his injury setback.

Ryan, who has missed much of this campaign following surgery to his left hamstring in the summer, unfortunately suffered an injury to his other hamstring as he made his return to action in our Under-21's Premier League 2 clash with West Ham United on Saturday.

The versatile left-sided player has since undergone surgery on his right hamstring and will now be closely monitored by our medical team to determine when he can return to training.

After the frustrating news, Sess expressed his disappointment via his official instagram page saying he was ‘gutted beyond belief’ with the setback.

But, not one to dwell on the frustration, Ryan thanked fans for their messages of support while his eyes are already firmly set on returning to action.

And Ange Postecoglou expects the former Fulham man to come back stronger than before.

"It's nothing that happens by design. I think he's done everything right; he's worked hard. Unfortunately he's had these recurring injuries.

"It's always harder when they go back-to-back and he hasn't really had that reward of all his hard work to at least get out there and do what he loves. So it's another challenge for Sess but, on thew flip side of that, he's certainly got enough experience dealing with it.

"He'll get all the support he needs and I'm sure he'll come back stronger."
