Tottenham Hotspur Foundation helped bring smiles to seriously ill children and their families at Great Ormond Street Hospital’s sports day on Saturday.

Our team delivered football and flag football activities at the event attended by hundreds of patients from one of the world’s leading children’s hospitals.

Taking place at Lee Valley Athletics Centre, Enfield, the Foundation was one of many organisations lending support, with archery, wheelchair basketball, hula-hooping and rowing among a range of other activities on offer.

Simon Wears, Foundation health and wellbeing manager, said: “This really was a special day and we were delighted to be involved.

“As well as the many programmes we run in the local community ourselves, it’s important to us to be able to support bigger events like this as much as we can.

“We pride ourselves on being able to adapt activities as required to ensure everyone can take part and it was great seeing faces light up when a ball was at their feet or in their hands.”

The Foundation runs football sessions across Haringey and Enfield, as well as flag football through the Huddle Project, a joint-funded programme by Tottenham Hotspur, the National Football League (NFL) and Nike. In addition, it runs health and wellbeing sessions for all ages.
