Spence tastes success on Serie A debut against Salernitana

Djed Spence enjoyed the perfect start to life on loan in Italy as he helped Genoa to a 2-1 win at US Salernitana on Sunday afternoon.

Having joined the Serie A side earlier this month, the full-back was in from the off for his new side's first game since his arrival - a league trip to the south of Italy to take on Fillipo Inzaghi's Salernitana, who are captained by former Spurs man Federico Fazio.

Starting the game on the left of a back five, Djed helped Genoa to take all three points at the Stadio Arechi, as they continue to impress on their return to the Italian top flight.

A summer, 2022, arrival from Middlesbrough, he played the full 90 minutes against Salernitana. Genoa's next game is on Sunday 28 January as they host Lecce in the league.
