As the Club for dog lovers, we are featuring a ‘Dog of the Match’ at every home game throughout the season.
Members of Tottenham Hotspaw - our first-ever Official Supporters’ Club for dog lovers - have been posting pictures of their beloved pets on the group’s Facebook page for a chance for them to be featured on the stadium big screens ahead of kick-off and in the matchday programme.
The ‘Dogs of the Match’ for Sunday’s game against Chelsea are Italian greyhounds Merlin and Arthur (2 and 7 months old respectively). They live with Clair Missen, who has been supporting Spurs since the days of Glenn Hoddle, and was a proud spectator the day Paul Gascoigne's free-kick helped fire Spurs to the 1991 FA Cup Final. A love of football has translated to the pups - Arthur particularly is obsessed by chasing balls in the back garden of their Felixstowe home!
Alongside our ‘Dog of the Match’, we also profile rescue dogs currently up for adoption with All Dogs Matter – the fantastic charity partner of Tottenham Hotspaw - giving fans the chance to provide a forever home so badly needed.
On Sunday, we are featuring Cagney & Keahn – a gorgeous pair of golden oldie Staffies.
Cagney and Keahn are a very sweet bonded pair, they follow each other around and take comfort from each other like an old married couple! They are friendly with people and enjoy scratches and a cuddle. Cagney is the more sprightly of the two, and will bound around, rolling herself around on the floor, whereas Keahn is a calmer gentleman that enjoys a potter and a sniff. These two are looking for a calm, quiet retirement home where they can be spoilt. They would like to find a home where they are the only pets, with direct access to a garden. Cagney and Keahn are a special pair and have so much love to give.
