The King in the States

Ledley's week across the pond

Thu 11 April 2024, 07:00|Tottenham Hotspur

Ledley King's ambassadorial duties took him across the pond last week as he took Spurs to the United States of America.

In the States to appear at NBC's Premier League Mornings Live event in Nashville, Tennessee, on April 7, our legendary former captain also spent time in Chicago, Michigan, and Minneapolis, Minnesota during his time in the US.

Beginning in Chicago, Ledley met with members of our Chicago Spurs Official Supporters’ Club for a river boat tour around the Windy city before heading to a special Q and A evening where fans were not only  entertained with some stories from Ledley from his playing days but got the chance to have their photograph taken with the King.

Later, he linked up with NFL giants Chicago Bears, who are due to visit Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as a designated home team in October. After touring their facilities and playing some games with their wide receiver DJ Moore, he worked with Bears legend Jerry Azumah to deliver a flag football session at Crane High School.

Heading to Nashville next, Ledley appeared as a guest on NBC's live broadcast of Premier League Mornings ahead of our clash with Nottingham Forest.

At the event, he also met with Spurs fans from our Official Supporters' Club in the city before he took part in activations with Nike and EA SPORTS and was even on hand to help personalise their shirts with Premier League lettering and numbers.

And then it was time for the main event as our clash with Forest was played out on the big screens at the event to a crowd full of Spurs fans adorning various iterations of our shirts from across the years.

The trip was then rounded off with a visit to Minneapolis, where Ledley spent the day with the other NFL home team visiting N17 in 2024, the Minnesota Vikings. And Leds' was in for a treat as he got the chance to try a legendary Minneapolis ‘Juicy Lucy’ burger as he toured the city with Vikings’ legendary linebacker Chad Greenway.

And he landed just in time to watch our Premier League clash with West Ham with our local supporters’ club.
