Pedro Porro supports Foundation’s inclusive football sessions

Thu 18 May 2023, 15:25|Tottenham Hotspur

Pedro Porro gave local school students a day to remember today when he joined an inclusive football session hosted by Tottenham Hotspur Foundation.

Riverside School, based in Wood Green, is a co-educational maintained secondary special school which offers a range of inclusive group activities for their students who have a wide range of learning difficulties.

Tottenham Hotspur Foundation regularly runs football tournaments with Riverside School as part of the ‘Making Sport a Daily Habit’ programme, which is designed to encourage people to incorporate exercise into their daily routine.

This afternoon, our Spanish international joined 16 students at the school for a football coaching session as well as taking the time to sign autographs and take photos with the students.

Michelle Beekharry, PE co-ordinator at Riverside School, said: “It was absolutely fantastic to have Pedro here today visiting us. He was brilliant with all the students and staff, and the students loved having the opportunity to play football with him. It is a day that they will remember for a long time!”

Today’s visit forms part of the wider work delivered by the Club and its Foundation to create life-changing experiences for young people across its community.

The Club has well established relationships with local schools across Haringey and Enfield with first team men’s and women’s players visiting regularly to provide students with the opportunity to meet their heroes face-to-face.
