Foundation work to be showcased at Saturday's home clash with Brighton

Thu 06 April 2023, 10:00|Tottenham Hotspur

The Club is proudly backing Premier League Supports - a campaign to celebrate the impact that Premier League-funded activities have on the local community - at Saturday’s home match against Brighton (KO 3pm).

Running from 1–9 April, the campaign highlights the positive work being done by the Premier League, Clubs and their Foundations to create life-changing opportunities and experiences for people across their communities.

Established in 2007, our Foundation has a long established and valued partnership with its local communities across the Boroughs of Haringey, Enfield, Waltham Forest, and Barnet, where there are significant socio-economic challenges.

To mark the campaign, all Clubs were invited to nominate ‘One of our Own’ - an individual who has shown exceptional commitment and long-term contribution in their community.

One of our own – Jadon Anderson

Jadon’s story encapsulates the spirit of ‘One of our Own’ having made the incredible journey from programme participant to full-time coach over an 8-year journey with our Foundation.

In 2015, Jadon was taking part in one of our Kicks programmes and his passion for football and helping others led to the Foundation putting him through a coach education programme that resulted in him becoming a member of staff on the very programme he was once a participant.

Jadon has since excelled as a coach at Kicks and is now joining the Club’s elite Global Coaching team, travelling to Hong Kong where he will deliver a programme on behalf of AIA to young, budding footballers across Asia.

After being presented with his award, Jadon said: “It was an honour to receive Tottenham Hotspur’s ‘One of our Own’ award. I have been a part of this Club since the age of 14 and it has helped me become the person I am today. I have loved the journey from being a Kicks participant, to a Foundation coach, all the way through to my next venture as part of our Global Coaching Team. I look forward to running more sessions with many more talented young people and being part of this incredible Club for many more years to come.”

Jadon will be making a special guest appearance at half-time during Saturday’s match, where he will receive recognition from Club Ambassador, Ledley King. Please show your appreciation for ‘one of our own’.

We shall also be promoting the Foundation across our website, social media channels, LED signage and big screens at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday.

Get involved

Our Foundation coaches will be at N17 Arena – our community hub located on the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium campus, entry via Worcester Avenue – on Saturday (12pm – 3pm) to provide information and showcase a variety of community programmes the Club offers to those attending Saturday’s match.

Open to people of all ages and abilities, our coaches will be running Shape Up With Spurs sessions, a free health and activity programme encouraging you to move more, get fit and feel great, and Premier League Kicks sessions, which has helped thousands of young people through free weekly football sessions.
